One person has died following a collision between a bus and a light motor vehicle on the R66 between Eshowe and Gingindlovu on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services responded to the scene after receiving reports of the crash.
Driver declared dead at the scene
According to IPSS Medical Rescue, the driver of the light motor vehicle was found in a critical condition and severely entrapped inside the vehicle.
Paramedics attempted to stabilise the patient, but she was declared deceased at the scene.
Bus passengers escape with injuries
Passengers travelling on the bus were assessed by emergency personnel.
Most sustained minor injuries, while two passengers were transported to hospital with more serious injuries for further medical treatment.
