Live Results: 2026 Local Government Elections

South Africans went to the polls on Wednesday, 4 November 2026, to elect new municipal councils in the Local Government Elections.

Voting stations closed at 21:00. Counting, capturing and verification of results began immediately and continued through the night under the observation of party agents and accredited observers.

As of Thursday afternoon, the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) reported that more than a third of voting districts had been completed. Results are still provisional and will continue updating as more stations report.

The official live results dashboard shows the national picture, provincial and municipal breakdowns, maps, and seat allocations as they are verified.
