A passenger was shot and killed while a taxi driver was injured during a shooting incident in Zonkizizwe, Ekurhuleni, on Monday morning.
According to reports from the scene, unknown suspects opened fire on a minibus taxi while it was transporting passengers in the area. The shooting left one passenger fatally wounded. The victim was declared dead at the scene.
The taxi driver also sustained gunshot injuries during the attack and was transported to a medical facility for treatment. The extent of the driver’s injuries has not yet been officially confirmed.
Emergency medical services and law enforcement responded to the scene shortly after the incident was reported. Police cordoned off the area while investigators examined the scene and collected evidence.
