Detectives in Bedfordview, Gauteng, have appealed to members of the public for assistance in identifying and locating a suspect wanted in connection with a fraud investigation.
According to police, the case was officially reported on 28 February 2025 and remains under active investigation by detectives attached to the South African Police Service in Bedfordview.
As part of efforts to advance the investigation, authorities have released a photograph of the suspect believed to be linked to the fraud case. Police are urging anyone who may recognise the individual, or who may have information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts, to come forward and assist investigators.
The investigation is being led by Detective Sergeant Vukeya of Bedfordview SAPS. Members of the public with relevant information have been requested to contact the investigating officer directly on 011 450 0445.
Police have also encouraged the public to make use of anonymous reporting channels. Information can be submitted through the Crime Stop hotline on 08600 10111 or via the MySAPS.
Authorities stated that all information received from members of the public will be treated with strict confidentiality.
Fraud-related offences remain a serious concern across parts of Gauteng, with law enforcement agencies continuing investigations into cases involving alleged financial crimes and related offences. Police have reiterated that community cooperation remains important in helping investigators trace suspects and secure arrests in ongoing criminal cases.
The Bedfordview detectives’ appeal comes as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the fraud matter reported earlier this year. No further details regarding the nature of the alleged fraud or the suspect’s identity have been released at this stage.
