An armed home invasion in Crawford, Cape Town, ended in a shooting that left one suspected robber dead and another injured and under police guard in hospital.
The incident occurred at approximately 9.15pm on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, at a residence in Rokeby Road, where armed suspects allegedly entered the property, restrained the occupants and demanded money.
Western Cape police confirmed that a house robbery case had been opened at Lansdowne police station. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
Family Tied Up During Armed Robbery
According to police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg, the occupants were inside the house when unknown suspects entered while armed with firearms.
The suspects allegedly demanded cash and tied up the victims during the robbery. Shots were subsequently fired, leaving one suspect fatally wounded.
A second suspect was also wounded and later arrested. Police confirmed that the arrested suspect was receiving treatment in hospital under police guard.

According to his account, the father was in the shower when he heard a commotion inside the property. He allegedly realised that a robbery was taking place and reached for his firearm.
Davids said the father shot one of the suspects, who died inside the house. Another suspect, who allegedly fled the property after being wounded, reportedly collapsed at an Astron garage in the Belgravia area.
The injured suspect was subsequently arrested and placed under police guard in hospital.

Police Investigate House Robbery
