Durban – A serious collision occurred on the N3 southbound carriageway just before the Marianhill Toll Plaza on Thursday morning, 27 November 2025.
The crash was reported at approximately 09:29 and has resulted in the closure of the left lane in the southbound direction. Traffic is heavily affected, with significant delays already building up between the Pavilion interchange and the toll plaza.
All emergency services, including advanced life support paramedics, fire and rescue units, and traffic authorities, are on scene and actively managing the incident.
As of 10:15, the scene remains active and the left lane is still closed. Motorists travelling towards Durban from Pietermaritzburg are urged to expect lengthy delays and to exercise patience while emergency personnel work.
No information regarding the number of vehicles involved or the extent of injuries has been released at this stage. The cause of the collision is also not yet known.
The incident is being monitored through the i-traffic KZN CCTV network, and further updates will be provided as the situation develops.
