MAHWELERENG, LIMPOPO – On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mahwelereng, Limpopo, apprehended three male suspects linked to two business robberies that occurred earlier that morning. The swift response by local law enforcement led to the recovery of stolen goods, earning commendations from provincial authorities.


According to SAPS, the arrests followed reports of robberies at two commercial premises in the Mahwelereng policing area. Officers acted promptly, launching a targeted operation to track down the perpetrators. The suspects, aged between 28 and 38, were detained shortly after the incidents, showcasing the effectiveness of rapid police intervention.


During the operation, authorities recovered various items stolen from the businesses, though specific details about the nature of the goods have not been disclosed. The successful retrieval of the property has been highlighted as a significant achievement in mitigating the impact of the crimes on the affected businesses.

Limpopo’s Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the Mahwelereng SAPS team for their dedication and quick action. “The commitment of our officers to ensure the safety of our communities is commendable,” Hadebe stated. She emphasized that such operations reflect SAPS’s ongoing efforts to combat violent crime in the province.


The suspects are expected to face charges of business robbery and are scheduled to appear before the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Friday, April 25, 2025. Police investigations are ongoing to determine if the individuals are connected to other criminal activities in the region.
