NDWEDWE, KwaZulu-Natal – A 50-year-old man was found dead in his home in the Sukumani area of Ndwedwe on Sunday morning, having suffered multiple stab wounds.
The deceased has been identified as Vusi David Noimande.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call at approximately 06:50 on Sunday reporting the incident. Reaction Officers were dispatched and travelled 27 kilometres to the address, where they discovered Noimande’s body lying on the floor inside a two-bedroom house.
Paramedics confirmed that the victim had sustained stab wounds to the neck, left chest, and abdomen. He was declared dead at the scene.
Officers noted no signs of forced entry into the property and established that no valuables had been taken.
The person who discovered the body was a friend of the deceased. He told reaction officers that he had arrived at the house on Sunday morning to collect Noimande because the two were scheduled to attend a lobola ceremony together.
The friend stated that he had last seen Noimande alive at 10:30 on Saturday morning.
Police have opened a murder investigation. No arrests have been made at this stage.
