Temple Valley, KwaZulu-Natal – A couple was robbed at gunpoint by six heavily armed suspects at their home on Starr Street, Temple Valley, late on Thursday night, 27 November 2025.
The incident took place at approximately 22:53 when the female victim stepped outside her residence to use an external toilet. As she exited the house, the six suspects, all armed with rifles, confronted her and immediately demanded the couple’s mobile phones.
The robbers forced their way into the presence of both victims and took the following items:
- One iPhone 6
- Two additional cellphones (models not specified)
- R2 000 via a forced cash-send transaction completed by the victims
After seizing the items, the suspects fled the property in an unknown direction. It remains unclear whether they escaped on foot or in a vehicle.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) reaction officers were dispatched and arrived on scene at 22:53, moments after the suspects had left. A search of the surrounding area was conducted, but no arrests were made and the suspects remain at large.
Fortunately, neither victim sustained any physical injuries during the ordeal.
Local authorities and private security companies have urged residents in Temple Valley and surrounding areas to remain vigilant, especially during late-night hours, and to report any suspicious activity immediately. The matter has been reported to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation.
